The Africa Cup of Nations 2017 starts today Saturday 14th January 2017 with a match between Gabon and Guinea-Bissau. Although Ghana is not scheduled to play until Tuesday 17th January 2017 against Uganda, the team has sent out a message to Ghanaians.
The black stars have collectively said that Ghanaians show no support for their act and it is a shameful thing to do. They complained that it is quite stressful training and going to play and the people you are playing for don’t even appreciate your effort. They said that Ghana only cares when they lose a match, “we are not robots and need some emotional support too.” – they said.
The players further concluded that if Ghanaians don’t support them in this Afcon 2017, they will lose big time and bring shame upon the nation and at the end, collapse the Black Stars team because it seems nobody wants it to exist anymore.
None of the players individually took responsibility for this message but they said they all agree on this as a TEAM and this is their message to the Ghanaian people.
